At Luno, we take every possible precaution to protect you and your funds, but we can’t always protect you from scams and phishing attempts.
If someone has asked you to open a Luno account so that they can help you earn great returns - or to send them money for no clear reason - be very sceptical, no matter how convincing they may seem. These are common tactics used by scammers to gain access to accounts and your funds.

As with all things in life, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is! Scammers promising you high returns on your money, extraordinary services or other fairytale promises should be approached with a lot of caution
Cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible, which means if you send your money to a scam, you will never get it back
Never share your account and password details with anyone. Luno will never ever ask you for your password
Think twice before you send money to someone to invest on your behalf. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. There’s no such thing as quick money - even in crypto
Never share your sign in details or your screen with anyone
If someone tells you that they offer a service that can recover your funds that have been lost to scammers - they cannot! Do not get scammed twice by the same people, who might be using another way to get you to pay more money
