If you’re new to Luno, a warm welcome! Before we can get you trading on the Luno Exchange, we’ll need to find out a little bit more about you (aka verifying your identity).
Your time is important to us, so if you’re aiming to trade high volumes on the exchange, we’d recommend that you verify yourself to level 3, to avoid the transaction limits that come with the lower verification levels.
Tip
Level 3 is our highest verification level and comes with no (or very high) transaction limits. Moving to this level gives you the freedom to immediately trade high volumes without the need to upgrade your account.

Step 1: Sign up

Sign up with Luno on the web or on our mobile apps with your email address
Confirm your email address
Enter and confirm your mobile number
You’ll be guided through steps on how to verify your identity to level 2
Step 2: Upgrade to level 3
Once you’ve successfully verified your identity to level 2, let’s upgrade you to level 3. To do that, navigate to verification in your settings, where we'll ask you to:
Enter your residential address (there’s no need to provide a document)
Answer a few short questions to help us get to know you even better
Mission success! We’ll finalise your upgrade to level 3, and once done, we’ll let you know, and you can start trading on the Luno Exchange.
