How is my profit or loss calculated?

On your Profit/Loss view, you’re able to see your profit, or loss, for all your cryptocurrencies at Luno - for all time.

All time - being the time since your first crypto transaction at Luno, up until the moment you view it in your Profit/Loss view.

Here's how

Your profit or loss is calculated using the following formula:

Your current Combined balance (the combined value of all your crypto and local currency wallets)

Your Money in (this includes all your local currency deposits and all the crypto you’ve received in your Luno crypto wallet/s - estimated at the time of the transaction)

Your Money out (this includes all the funds you’ve withdrawn from your local currency wallet, as well as all the crypto you’ve sent from your crypto wallet/s, estimated at the time of the transaction)

Your Profit/Loss (displayed in your local currency)

Note

On the Profit/Loss main view, when you select the Profit/Loss total right at the bottom, your profits and losses are broken down for each cryptocurrency you invested in, and the net total is displayed at the bottom.

Your local currency wallet will show a negative amount - this accounts for the total deposit fees and withdrawal fees you’ve paid over all time.
