
If you’re not receiving the SMS code sent to your mobile phone when signing up for a Luno account or trying to update your mobile number, here are a few easy steps you can follow to resend the SMS or get a call instead.

On the Check your SMS screen:
If you haven’t received the SMS within one minute, select RESEND SMS
If the SMS still doesn’t arrive, select the CALL ME INSTEAD option and you’ll receive a call reading out your 4-digit code
If you don’t get any SMSs or calls, there may be a temporary network issue on our side or on yours. In this case, try these steps again a bit later

Tip
Check your mobile phone messaging app’s spam or blocked folder. If you see the SMS sent by Luno, be sure to select not spam or unblock to move the SMS out of the spam or blocked folder so that messages from Luno are sent directly to your inbox.
If you’re using the Premium version of a message filtering app (like Truecaller), please go to Messages, select the Spam folder, find the SMS from Luno, tap the Settings icon and select Never mark as spam. You shouldn’t have any problems receiving an SMS from Luno ever again.
