Delayed verification in Indonesia (July 2022)

Does this apply to me?

Only if you’re verifying your Luno account in Indonesia.

Since the 28th of July 2022 we’ve been unable to verify any new Luno accounts in Indonesia.

Why?

The service provider we use to verify your identity has been offline, due to some ongoing maintenance on the Department of Population and Civil Registrations database in Indonesia.

Bappebti, the agency that regulates crypto in Indonesia, requires us to verify your identity details against the Department’s records, so without access to our provider’s critical verification services, there is currently no way for us to verify Indonesian Luno accounts.

What is Luno doing about this?

We’ve been working tirelessly to set up an alternative verification provider so that we can restore verification services in Indonesia as soon as possible.

Once the new verification service is up and running, we’ll process all the delayed verifications automatically. This shouldn’t require any additional action from you. As soon as your account is verified, you’ll get an email notification letting you know that you’re ready to buy crypto.

We’re incredibly sorry for this disappointing setback. This is not at all the customer experience we pride ourselves on, and we hope to earn back your trust soon.
