We've temporarily paused crypto sends to email addresses and mobile numbers (November 2022)

We’ve temporarily paused cryptocurrency sends to email addresses and mobile numbers while we work to make them as safe and secure as blockchain transactions.

At the same time, we’ll also be introducing some enhancements to this feature, so you can look forward to a new and improved version relaunching in 2023. We’ll send out an announcement to let you know when it’s ready.

Until the relaunch, you won’t be able to enter an email address or a mobile number when sending crypto.

Not to worry, you can still send crypto in the following two ways:

  1. By sending directly to a wallet address,
  2. Or by scanning a QR code

Tip

For a detailed walk-through on how to send cryptocurrency, have a look at this article.

Keep in mind

  • The recipient's wallet might take a while to show the transaction, and a dynamic send fee will apply

  • A cryptocurrency transaction is similar to a cash transaction and cannot be reversed unless the recipient agrees to send it back

  • Only send to people you trust and watch out for scams

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience while we make transacting on the Luno platform even safer and easier for everyone.
