Your home screen is a great place to get started. Here, you’ll get a comprehensive glance at how your favourite cryptocurrencies are performing, buy the crypto coins you’re interested in, create Price Alerts and get easy access to the Luno Exchange.
How to view the price of different coins
Let’s break it down! Each icon below the graph represents one of the coins you can buy or sell on the Luno app. By default, you’ll have Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) coins on your home screen.
Tip
You can add more coins and learn more about them by following the steps outlined here.
Tapping on each coin’s icon will show you its price information. You’ll also see the option to buy it by choosing your desired amount and then selecting the BUY button.
Note
Before you make your first purchase, you’ll need to verify your identity and deposit money into your wallet. Simply follow this step-by-step guide to get started.
To view past prices, use the sliding cursor or select a specific point on the graph. If you’d like to change the time frame, select the down arrow underneath the price.
How to set price alerts or switch to the Exchange view
Select the three dots on the top right-hand corner to see the price of a single unit of the coin you selected in USD. This menu is also the access point for setting up Price Alerts and switching to the Luno Exchange screen/platform.

The world of crypto is constantly evolving and there’s always something to discover. But with so many sources and opinions floating around, it might be difficult to know where to start, who to trust and what to believe. Luno aims to make all that information clear and easily accessible to you.

Here, you can get the latest news, product updates, access to some help articles and our handy learning portal by simply tapping on the appropriate section at the top of your screen.
This screen gives you a view of all your wallets and their balances - essentially, it’s where all your money resides.
At the top of your screen, you’ll see your Combined Wallet Value represented in your local fiat currency. This figure is calculated by tallying up the total values of all your individual wallets - fiat and crypto - according to the current rate of exchange.
The 
icon in the right-hand corner links you to your profits and losses screen, where you’ll get a view of the total profit or loss you’ve made over a set period of time.

Ready to transact? Select BUY to make your first purchase. This will give you a list of crypto options available for you to buy.

Want to expand your portfolio? Select Create a crypto wallet and choose the cryptocurrency you’d like to add. Each wallet view has the same option to buy, sell, send, and receive.
Did someone say free Bitcoin? Luno rewards you for referring friends and family.
Select INVITE A FRIEND to share your unique referral link via social media or directly to a friend. Curious about the nitty-gritty? Selecting HOW IT WORKS explains exactly how these rewards work so you can get earning.

If you’re lucky enough to have a promo code or you’ve been referred by a friend, select Enter a code in the top right-hand corner to apply it.

The profile screen is your control centre and makes it easy for you to update your account information, change your preferences, and customise your Luno experience. At the top of your screen, you’ll be greeted by all your notifications. These will pop in whenever there’s activity on your account, including sign-ins and transactions.

Security
We’re big on security and have fantastic features to keep your crypto safe. Make changes to how you sign in to Luno, how you access your account and secure your transactions in this section.
You’ll be able to change your password, enable or disable 2FA, toggle on your touch ID and app lock, as well as manage devices.
Tip
For increased security, we suggest that you keep the option to send cryptocurrency disabled. Crypto sends can’t be reversed and you won’t be able to get your money back if you send it to a scam or the wrong address.

Settings
Here’s where you control and adjust your personal preferences and account information. You can change your name, email and cellphone number or adjust your country, language and communication preferences to suit your needs.
You’ll also be able to view your verification level and manage your Luno Exchange preferences.
Luno Labs lets you try out new features before they’re released to everyone else. To join our community of insiders, simply toggle it on to enable it.

Price Alerts
Interested in the performance of particular coins? Setting up price alerts allows you to accurately track changes in the value of the coins you’re interested in.
You’ll be able to create alerts that notify you of changes in the price of a single unit of a coin. Choose the value in your local currency then specify whether you want to be alerted when it’s less than or more than a certain amount, as well as how often you’d like to receive alerts.
Tip
To get the best out of the price alerts feature, you’ll need to have notifications turned on for the Luno app.
