Before making a deposit so that you can buy cryptocurrency, you’ll have to set up your profile by telling us a bit about yourself (aka verify your identity). Once done, you can go ahead and make a deposit into your local currency wallet.

Open the Luno app and sign in
Select Wallets from the menu
Choose your local currency wallet
Select DEPOSIT
Choose the method with which you’d like to top-up your wallet
And follow the on-screen prompts from there
Different payment methods are available in each of Luno’s supported countries. Find more detailed instructions for your country below.
In Australia, you can deposit money directly into your AUD wallets using a bank transfer (a method that could be instant, depending on the speed of your bank), or you can make an instant deposit with PayID, which should reflect within a few minutes (however, some banks may hold first-time deposits for up to 24 hours).

In Europe, you can deposit money into your EUR wallet using the SEPA bank transfer method (which takes up to 2 business days to reflect once your bank has made the transfer).

If you don’t see the debit or credit card deposit option, you can make a deposit using SEPA bank transfer.
In the United Kingdom, you can make a deposit to your GBP wallet via online banking, which can take up to 24 hours to be processed (longer over weekends, public holidays, and when you make a deposit after hours). Once we’ve received your deposit, we’ll automatically add it to your GBP wallet, and notify you via email.
Alternatively, you can buy cryptocurrency with Instant Buy without having to add money to your local currency wallet first.

When making a deposit, please make sure that you’ve deposited from a local bank account in your own name, using the correct unique reference number (starting with BX).
In Malaysia, you can make a deposit to your MY wallet via bank transfer using MayBank, CIMB Clicks, Public Bank, RHB, Hong Leong Bank or AmBank (which should reflect within one business day), or you can make an instant transfer with FPX.

The following types of deposits are not accepted, and once we have the necessary information, it will be returned to the depositor:
Third-party deposits (made from a bank account not in your own name). This includes deposits from company/ business bank accounts owned by you
Cash and cheque deposits
Deposits from e-wallets (e.g. BigPay)
Deposits from debit and credit cards
Foreign currency deposits or deposits from foreign bank accounts. We only accept MYR from local MYR bank accounts
In Indonesia, you can make a deposit via bank transfer through an ATM, internet banking and mobile banking almost instantly. There are zero fees when depositing funds to your IDR wallet.

Tip
You can use your once-off account number to deposit from any bank. If you’re making an over-the-counter transfer, enter ‘Luno Indonesia Ltd’ as a beneficiary name.
In Nigeria, you can make a deposit by purchasing a voucher and entering your voucher number on the Redeem your voucher screen on Luno. Once redeemed, we’ll add the funds to your NGN wallet.
Keep in mind
If you didn’t receive your voucher details or OTP (One-Time PIN), please check that your Nigerian phone number and email address are correct on your Luno profile.

In Singapore, you can make a deposit via bank transfer using local funds transfers in SGD. We accept FAST (Fast and Secure Transfer) and GIRO bank transfers. If you've made a deposit via FAST, the funds will reflect in your Luno account by the next business day.
For deposits made via GIRO, the allocation time will vary, depending on the bank’s processing times. We also support deposits from a StraitsX personal account. We recommend using FAST to fund your Luno account.

Keep in mind
Make sure that your deposit is made from a personal, Singapore-based bank account in your full legal name, matching the name on your submitted identity document. To make deposits from joint bank accounts, you’ll need to send us proof of ownership for your bank account.
If you’d like to make more than one deposit in a 24-hour period, prevent delays by making sure that each deposit made is a different amount.
In South Africa, you can make a deposit via bank transfer (which can take up to 2 business days to reflect), or you can make an Instant EFT deposit with Stitch.

In Uganda, you can make a deposit to your UGX wallet using your bank’s mobile app, online banking, an agent banker or over the counter. If you make your deposit at Stanbic Uganda, it will reflect in your UGX wallet on the same day. For deposits at all other banks, please allow 2 business days to reflect.
