After signing up with Luno, you'll need to verify your identity before you can buy cryptocurrency. This process is easier than opening a bank account.
Once you've verified your email address and mobile number, provided your address and information about your job and source of funds, you can verify your identity by submitting your identity documents.
Here's how to submit your documents
Sign in to your Luno account
Select Profile from the menu
Navigate to Settings
Select Verification
On the next screen, select CONTINUE
Add your proof of identity, and follow the on-screen prompts from there
When prompted to take a picture of your driving license, state ID card, or passport, please submit a high-quality, colour photo. The document should clearly show your identity number, full name, date of birth, and a clear ID photo.
You'll also need to take a clear selfie of your face, which we use to compare with your identity document.
Keep in mind
We're not able to accept black-and-white or low-quality photos/scans, or screenshots of identity documents
Only submit documents that belong to you. The information on your identity document should match the information you signed up with
Your identity will usually be verified in a few minutes, but it may take a day or two in rare cases
